Astrophytum Asterias
Astrophytum asterias is also known by various other names, such as sand dollar cactus, star cactus, and star peyote. It is a very rare, small cactus species that is non-prickly, round, and grows in a spherical shape. And there are 6 to 10 ribs in this spherical shape. The body of the cactus is greenish-brown in color and has tiny white patches on the ribs with little white soft areolas. This cactus has a height of about 4 cm and a diameter of around 5 cm.
Usage
Astrophytum asterias, or star cactus, is usually used as an ornamental piece. Astrophytum asterias is a type of cactus that is capable of bearing flowers. It bears yellow flowers with red bases, whose outer parts are very woolly. Along with that, it also helps in air purification. You can place this cactus outside of your house as an ornamental piece or set it in a place where it can get the most sunlight.

Astrophytum asterias, or sand dollar cactus, belongs to the Cactaceae family and is a native of the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has categorized this species of cactus as a “Vulnerable Species”. This cactus has a slow growth rate and can grow up to 6 cm in height and 15 cm in diameter.
