Kalanchoe is a popular houseplant consisting of long-lasting blooms. They have thick leaves and are often seen in garden centers or florist shops. Most of these plants end up as potted plants but areas similar to their native land of Madagascar can even grow them outdoors.
Kalanchoe is fun to grow, to start from cuttings itself. The grassy stems generate the best plants with quick root growth. Take 2 to 3-inch sections and uncloak the bottom bunch of leaves. Allow the cutting to sit out in a hot and dry location forming a callus on the end. These beautiful plants brighten indoors with their flowers producing different shades of red, pink, magenta, yellow, orange, and white.
