Oxalis triangularis, also known as Purple Shamrock, or False Shamrock, is a perennial plant in the family Oxalidaceae. This beautiful plant is usually grown indoors but can be grown outside, preferably in light shade. Its leafage is an intense, beautiful purple colour. The leaves are triangular and usually grow in clusters of three. They wrinkle up almost like an umbrella at night (or on cloudy days), but they open up again with the morning light.
